Why this board works

This is a fictional reporting exercise about the evolution of smart-home technology, not a published investigation. Its purpose is to show how a journalist can keep sources, possible angles and unresolved questions separate while seeing their connections.

Build your version

  1. Frame a modest research question

Ask how the sector is changing and which evidence would help explain it. Collect source links and note dates so changes over time remain understandable.

  2. Distinguish evidence from leads

Put verified observations, proposed interviews and hypotheses in separate groups. Add a note explaining why each source matters instead of treating every saved page as confirmation.

  3. Build an accountable outline

Connect a possible story section to the material supporting it. Keep contradictions and questions visible. Any real article still needs source verification and editorial review outside this fictional example.
